Job Description


Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: daily care of a variety of animals (including snakes, large turtles, lizards, mice, rats, bats, spiders, insects, and more); maintenance of large and small aquarium pumps, heat and light sources; timed public feeding of animals; cage and tank cleaning; helping with education programs; helping to maintain Discovery Room; weekend work is required. An ability to work with an assortment of live and dead animals. The person needs to be dependable, responsible, and conscientious. This job entails heavy lifting and working on ladders.

Other Requirements

  • Must be enrolled for summar class through Fort Hays State Univarsity
  • Must have work-study approved
