Children’s author Jordan Lowe recently visited the museum to take photos for her upcoming book, “Hattie & Hank in Kansas,” which is scheduled to be released later this year.

The book, which is the second in a series of non-fiction books related to geography, are targeted towards children in kindergarten through second grade. Lowe is visiting several locations throughout the state to shoot photos, which she will provide to an artist to create illustrations.

A former elementary teacher from Olathe, Kansas, Lowe plans to release a Hattie & Hank book about every state.

Her first book, “The Adventures of Hattie & Hank” will be released in August.
