Hours and Admission

Thinking about a visit to the Sternberg Museum of Natural History? Our Museum has a gallery full of fossils, live animals, and natural history facts to keep you busy for hours. We are conveniently located near I -70 in Hays, Kansas. If you are thinking of bringing a group we can provide guided tours. Check out our gallery guide for a sneak preview of what’s inside the Museum. While the Museum is a full day of entertainment why not make it an even more exciting weekend! You can also check out Fort Hays State University, the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, and other area attractions. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Summer Hours  (March-Sept)

Monday-Saturday 9 am-6 pm 
Sunday 1 pm-6 pm

The Museum is Open Year-Round Except for Five Days

We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. Days that the Museum is open and our hours of operation are subject to change throughout the year.

Adults (age 13-59) $10
Youths (age 4-12) $7 
Senior Citizens (60+) $9 
FHSU Students (w/valid ID) $6
