New collection catalogue started at Sternberg
In the year 2024, it is incredibly rare to START a new collection catalogue for a museum. Almost always, new collection's managers as myself come into the collection to tidy and maintain a long standing catalogue and its specimens.
However, despite being the LARGEST Sternberg Zoological collection (~80,000 individually pinned specimens), the Sternberg Entomology collection has existed without a catalogue for decades. As of two weeks ago, led by curatorial assistants Brett Koehn and Isaac Fox, the FHSM-Entomology division has officially begun a new catalogue, with modern age tags with QR codes that will eventually link users directly to our digitized database.
What a time for zoology here in Hays.
